We’re always talking about how here at TLA we use the same methods to achieve peak performance that the pros do. As you are watching the Olympics, you’ve probably noticed that in practically every sport, the athletes — and particularly the champions — are FAST. Genetics are involved here, but every top athlete trains for speed. As we get older, our fast-twitch fibers want to atrophy. Society does not encourage the maturing human to stay fast. The man takes our speed from us. Or at least our societal roles and sedentary patterns tend to make our quickness gradually disappear. Even most fitness and health training is incomplete with respect to maximum velocity. The Reaper is coming for us. He wants us to be weak, stiff, fragile, and slow. Fight back. Train for speed.
