This week the topic in our community is Power Training. Specifically, as part of the Summer Longevity Training Series on The Lifetime Athlete Podcast, we’re talking about how to safely and effectively develop and maintain power in the older athlete. This is an interesting subject because power is, relatively speaking, poorly understood and often overlooked in fitness and longevity circles. A great emphasis is placed upon strength and aerobic conditioning. Those elements are foundational and incredibly important. But power is an athletic capacity which is innately programmed into the human beast. We need power in order to be maximally functional as well as high(er) performing. Definitely worth a listen and the show is on all the major podcast platforms.
